Salsa + Salsa Community Event!
Come join us for this special event:
Friday, Sept. 27
6:30 - 8:30pm
Salsa Making Class + Salsa Dance Class
special community event
@Gateway Dance Theatre in the East Village
Salsa + Salsa
Come join us to celebrate Mexican culture and food, help launch a new deepened mission phase of Salsa Des Moines, and have fun dancing, too.
It will be a two hour event:
Part 1: Salsa making (and eating)
The first hour we’ll have Elva Beyart, the salsa chef & co-owner of Hungry Boys authentic Mexican Food food truck come and teach two salsa making recipes and share about the place of salsa in Mexican food, family and community.
Everyone who attends will be able to help prepare the salsa recipes together, and then enjoy eating the salsa afterwards.
We’re going to make a chunky red salsa and a green tomatillo salsa as well—it should be so delicious and really wonderful to learn and prepare this traditional food together…
Part 2: Salsa dancing
And the second hour, we’re going to move to the dance studio...and our Instructor will share a brief Salsa lesson & then we'll have social dancing...to make this part of the event fun for all dance levels.
Come learn how to make two delicious traditional Salsa recipes...and dance Salsa with us, too--with this special 2 hour event!
